Conversations

These are small outakes from conversation between characters starring in my story project.
Enjoy!

”The meaning of a man is not decided for them. But we rather chose if we will take the steps necessary for survival.”
The man said as he walked across the room. At the far side a dark planet, could be seen in front of a red sun.
“And what the hell does that suppose to mean?!”
The man calmly took out an old book from one of the walls that were littered with antique items.
“That means, I am giving you a choice. The galaxy is on the brink of war. You can’t see it from here, but the signs are clear. The invasion of Fahdalin wasn’t just an invasion. It was a necessary step, a preemptive strike.”
The smuggler took a step forward, being slightly disturbed by the man before her.
“Against who?”
The man sat down on a chair. It's grey curved form fitted neatly into the surroundings.
“We do not know. The Calatah Overminds only remembers fragments. But trust my word; you will need my help, sooner or later. This conversation is over, make up your mind.”

The man turned around towards the hologram of the captain that had spoiled so many of his plans. Slowly looking at the alien textures of his enemy, the man slowly spoke.
“You have become a quite annoyance. I’m talking with you to make a deal. You can’t subdue the inevitable.”
“And what if I refuse? I’ve already beaten your troops.”
The captain was arrogant, a veteran from battles at the fringes of civilization. Yet the man had dealt with a lot worse. The man took a small book from a shelf, looking through it. He then put it back. The waiting made the captain nervous.
“You’re arrogant. I’m trying to make a truce here and you insult me. You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into.”
“I know you have some answers. That’s all I want. Why do you assault me? Why is the shrine so important?”
The captain frowned. The man sat down in a chair, behind him the dark orb of a planet could be seen orbiting a large yellow star.
“You might not know it, but we’re soon at war. I’m collecting every resource I can find. And that shrine holds the key for our survival. I won’t ask you again; will you work for me.”
The last words were a statement rather than a question. The captain seemed to think.
“Will my friends be safe?”
“This is no time for morals. I offer a mutually benefit deal. I can help you, but only if you let me.”

“You are starting to test my patience.”
The man rose from the chair and turned towards the captain. The alien was covered in dirt and blood.
“The swarms are invading the archives. I need your help!”
The man pointed towards the ragged image of the captain.
“You have sabotaged enough! I won’t send more help, for you to squander with!”
“What!? But the city! The people here?”
The captain was near frenzy, a panic stricken voice came from its lips.
“I trusted you to do the job. But the commander was right. You are nothing but a liability. I will get what I want. I always do.”

The smuggler activated the panel. She was met by the man that already stood up.
“The whole galaxy seems to be fighting over the shrine. Send me a platoon and I can secure it.”
The man made a weak gesture.
“You won’t be doing anything. I have put too much trust in you. I’m sending the elite force. And this time, I’ll oversee this myself.”
The man’s otherwise smooth voice was harsh. The smuggler became unsure, whatever she should tell the news or not.
“The captain has defeated our defenses.”
“The captain has become a liability. Find and neutralize him.”

History of Nexus

Before the wrath of the Oppressors, there was a race that had existed for billions of years. They built mighty structures and sent out portals through the universe. When they understood, that they where a dying civilization, they gave their legacy to the tribes of Carlex, that used the technology and advanced, their gods long forgotten. They saw themselves as the rightful masters of the universe and began a campaign for complete dominance. After a long war the Oppressors was fought down to extinction. Under their long rule of several systems, the Oppressors had taken over thousand war slaves to the planet of Xd-23, more known as Nexus Prime. Under the years, the planet has broken free of the control of the tyrants and has now developed an own culture. But the peace and cultural marvel is threatened by a war between a race of religous fanatics and a greedy scavenger species.
Without the help of the Union the hundreds of communities is found to battle the offworld threat on their own. Both races are willingly to sacrefice everything to get their hands on the artifacts and technology of the Nexus species, the lost civilization. Without knowing it, the Fanatics and Scavengers is actually tearing the planet apart with their mining for resources and battles.

Law & Order of the Federation

The Law of the Federation can be parted in three diffrent protocols:

Alpha Protocol
The Alpha Protocol is the most common used, and is knowned by civilians in the Federation as "The Line". This is mostly because it contains all the public laws. Like that you need weapond licens before you can buy a weapond, and that its illegal to drive after that you have drinked toxic fluids. Most of this laws are knowned by the civilians except a few, like the law about you only get child grant when under five children, often leading to some familys of high birthday rate species.

Beta Protocol
This is the laws that the military follows. This is the short, undetailed list of them:
-Do not use lethal force until command gives you permission.
-Do not use violence if not threatend
-Do not abuse your power and rank
-Do not disobey orders
-Do not hurt civillians if not threatend and attacked

Delta Protocol
This is the law that protects the legacy of the "Ones that came before". This states that no one except high ranked archaelogists have the right to land on ancient races homeplanets and colonies. Even then it states that they need supervising. If one not authorized, land on a planet under the Delta Protocol will have to pay fee, and if any relics where scavenged be under prison on the planet Zemphior Prime.

HEAT [Hazardous Enviroment Anti-Terror]

HEAT is the hardest military branch in year 4000 in the Federation.
Using edge technology, HEAT can go where no other Federation Military branch could go before. Being Black Ops, they do not technically exist. Fighting against the borderline Serpent Systems, a indipendent alliance of systems in the Serpent Cluster. The Serpent Systems have tried to expand their territory over the Federation, first being the Colony Fall, the colony that each hundred year is harvested by the Space Raider's.
The Senate of the Federation is not certain why, but one theory is that they will try to obtain contact with the Space Raider's, as they would be a strong allied. Yet, thanks to HEAT, the Serpent Systems will have to try again.
Most of the HEAT information is classified and the only knowned of them is that they are masters of combat.

The ODE was one of the Federation of Indipendet Species hardest military branch. They where only used against the Tyran SpecOps, both being droped behind enemy lines. At the DarkSpace Wars the ODE served under the Admiral Harhkzon.
The ODE's training was held on the Planet Elzone, in the Shade Nebula. Old records of the Military Training in the Archives suggest that the ODE's was not only trained physically, but allso improved with chemicals and being trained mentally. This resulted in a breed of Genetic Super Warriors, as human called Spartans from their culture classed video game Halo.
The ODE soldiers has never been documented stronger than other soldiers. But it have been recordings that some Etrip'Khan was gaining highly trained reflexes.
The ODE was often dropped by the Federation's DropShips, into the heat of the combat. Now as the war have ended, only a few ODE soldiers is still alive. They have now been superseded by the new HEAT branch.
